With a career spanning over 30 years in the actuarial, insurance and executive benefit fields, Mel Todd is a recognized expert in the industry. 

Mel is Founder and President of COLI Consulting Group LLC (CCG), a company dedicated to helping companies and banks maximize the value of their life insurance assets. Prior to founding CCG in 2006, Mel authored a series of comprehensive reports about the Corporate and Bank Owned Life Insurance markets and consulted with several of the major insurance carriers active in these businesses. 

From 2001 until the spring of 2005, Mel was President and CEO of The Todd Organization, where he oversaw a major reorganization and re-capitalization effort. Prior to joining the Todd Organization, Mel served as President and CEO of Clark/Bardes, Inc. (now Clark Consulting). As CEO of Clark/Bardes, Mel played an instrumental role in launching a successful Initial Public Offering of the company in August of 1998. 

Before joining Clark/Bardes, Mel served 15 years with The Great-West Life Assurance Company where he had overall responsibility for the design, pricing, and marketing of all individual life insurance products. He was Vice President of National Accounts at the time he left to join Clark/Bardes as President in January of 1993. 

Mel is a well-known industry speaker and has appeared before audiences such as the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting, Million Dollar Roundtable and other major industry organizations. His articles can be found in The Journal of Compensation and Benefits, National Underwriter, CFO magazine and other national publications. 

Mel graduated with honors from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada in 1977, with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). Mel also is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is married with four children and currently resides in Greensboro, North Carolina.
